With the weather improving at long last (hopefully!) now we can start to think about bedding plants. Although there is still a danger of frost, choosing the right variety of bedding plant for the early part of the season can ensure that this isn't a problem. More fragile varieties can be planted later in the month. Because we grow ALL our bedding here in our own nursery this gives them an added advantage over those that might come from elsewhere.
Best choices for early May include pansies, viola (including trailng types), Antirrhinum, Calendula (Scotch marigold) and sweet pea.
